"I do not believe that he is purely evil. He is just lost. But my brother is not beyond redemption. He can still be saved."
Emilio Martinez.

Eduardo "Eddie" Martinez, Jr. is a recurring character on the television show Knight of Gotham. He is the younger brother of Emilio Martinez and a vicious hitman in the employ of Carmine Falcone, where he has the distinction of being Falcone's second-best assassin, with Jack Napier (with whom he was freqently paired with and considered a friend) only being better.

He was portrayed by Danny Trejo.

Biography

Before Knight of Gotham

Born six years after his brother, Emilio, was born, Eddie and Emilio had a turbulent childhood. As young men growing up in Santa Prisca, his parents, their parents were kidnapped by members of the corrupt communist government, which led to Emilio and Eddie to have a falling out. He turned to crime, and became a freelance assassin.

This lead to him being hired by Lawrence "The Squid" Loman, a crime lord operating in the Asian district of Gotham City. He quickly took to his new profession, channeling years of stress and anger from a turbulent childhood into his new profession. Carmine Falcone quickly took notice and lured him away from Loman's gang to work for him.

Season Three

After the Penguin had been captured and imprisoned, the Gotham criminal underworld had been thrown into chaos and had split into warring factions, with every induvidual crime lord wanting sole control over organized crime in the city. Napier approached him with a proposition: he was developing a second identity: a masked crime lord known as "The Red Hood", as well as continuing to operate as an assasin. He was forming a crime gang of his own, and wanted Eddie to be his second-in-command. Eddie gladfully accepted.

Season Four

Trivia

  • Eddie's character is based somewhat off of Bob the Goon from 1989's Batman.
