Dick Grayson: A young circus acrobat who witnesses the murder of his parents when the Joker reveals himself to the people of Gotham when attacking a charity event at Haley's Circus. He is then adopted by Bruce Wayne who understands the pain he is going through.

The inclusion/introduction of Dick Grayson, The Joker, and Catwoman is a nod to Batman #1 released in 1940.
